The Hitmaker Fund

Monday, 1 May 2023, 6.00pm

The Hitmaker Fund presents an opportunity for songwriters and producers working in popular music genres to advance their careers and writing or production skills with grants ranging from £5,000 to £10,000.

Established in 2017 to address the long-term career needs of professionals working behind the scenes, the Hitmaker Fund (previously known as The Writer Producer Fund) was launched by PRS Foundation in collaboration with BASCA Trust. The rebranded Hitmaker Fund is now administered by PRS Foundation.

Eligible applicants must have a minimum of five credited works registered with PRS for Music, which could include reputable cuts, songs with national radio plays, streaming plays, or works from a reputable writing camp.

This funding opportunity is not aimed at writers and producers in the early stages of their careers, but rather those with established successes and a proven track record.

For individuals invited to participate in a one-off international writing camp, including those associated with an international showcasing event (e.g., By:Larm Songs, SXSW Songs, ADE Writing Camp), it is advised to consider applying to the International Showcase Fund instead.

Applicants are required to submit a minimum of two commercially exploited works for evaluation, and advisors will listen to at least two submitted works.
