Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble's PRS Foundation Commissioning Scheme
Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble is delighted to offer three small commissions to early-career composers from Northern Ireland, funded by the PRS Foundation's Talent Development Partnership, supported by PPL. Composers without a large track record of professional performances of their works are encouraged to apply. Hard Rain is committed to supporting composers of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome proposals from women, Black, Asian, ethnically diverse and/or disabled composers.
Only composers born or domiciled in Northern Ireland are eligible to apply. There is no age limit, however, this initiative is aimed at non-professionals and early-career composers. It is envisaged that commissioned pieces will be no longer than 6 minutes in duration.
We're looking for duo or trio pieces written for any combination of the following instruments, but excluding piano:
• Flute (doubling picc. or alto)
• Bb Clarinet (doubling bass cl)
• Violin
• Cello
The deadline for the submission of proposals is Friday 28th May at 12 noon. Applicants will be informed by Friday 11th June. The selected composers must be able to deliver the work before Friday 24th September.
We always welcome feedback and are keen to ensure that our application process is as accessible as possible. If you feel that any part of the process could deter you from applying, please contact our Concerts Manager, Chloé Morrison, via [email protected].
