Culture Night Late Fund

Thursday, 13 April 2023, 5.30pm

Culture Night Late aims to facilitate events commencing after 9 pm and extending late into the night on Culture Night, which falls on Friday, 22 September 2023. This initiative is a collaboration between the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media and the Night Time Economy Taskforce. Its primary goal is to diversify the Culture Night experience by promoting more inclusive and innovative late-night arts events catering to diverse audiences.

This scheme is based on the policies outlined in the Arts Council’s ten-year strategy (2016-2025), Making Great Art Work: Leading the Development of the Arts in Ireland, as well as the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Report of the Night-Time Economy Taskforce.

The award intends to support:
a) (Strand 1) Late-night flagship events led by local authorities, accommodating over 500 people in collaboration with one or more arts centres, arts organisations, arts festivals, or curators.
b) (Strand 1) Late-night flagship events led by arts centres, arts organisations, or arts festivals, hosting over 500 people in partnership with the respective local authority.
c) (Strand 2) Arts centres seeking additional funding to facilitate late-night openings on Culture Night.
