Instrumentalists (any instrument) at 3rd level and studying music on the island of Ireland, are sought for the Irish premieres of David Fennessy’s open instrumentation OPEN GROUND and Hans Zender’s Modelle fur variable Besetzung as part of a side-by-side performance with Ensemble Modem (visiting from Frankfurt) and in collaboration with the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Participants will rehearse with David Fennessy and the performers of Ensemble Modern 20th - 23rd April in Dublin, with the final performance 5pm on Sunday 23rd April as part of the New Music Dublin contemporary music festival (www.newmusicdublin.ie)

Auditions will take place at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, 9:00am - 1 :30pm, Friday 24th March 2023.

Audition requirements: Free choice of solo work for your instrument, between 5-7 minutes duration, written after 1950.

There will also be a short interview directly after your audition. Each audition will last approximately 10-12 minutes in total.
