Sunday, 2 April 2023, 12.00pm

Irish/Persian collaborative band Tulca return to the Hugh Lane Gallery [email protected] series to perform tracks from their 2021 album Just Be.

Tulca are a group of inquisitive musical storytellers who mix traditional Irish, Persian and Contemporary music with spoken word and design.

Drawn from The Art of Collaboration interdisciplinary collective, Tulca is Shayan Coohe, Shahab Coohe, Ultan O'Brien, Mick O’Brien and Paul Roe. The band combines new compositions with tunes drawn from Persian and Irish traditions, and frequently collaborates with writers, spoken word and people from both artistic and scientific backgrounds.

Just Be is a musical exploration of connection in a world of transience.

The Art of Collaboration is an interdisciplinary collective formed in 2018 by Artistic Director Paul Roe. It is a community of practice in which professionals from backgrounds as diverse as musical performance, psychiatry, leadership development, design and education share experience, insight and knowledge, and collaborate on creative projects.
