RTÉ’s internship is your chance to kickstart your career in the media and creative industries.

RTÉ2fm wants to hear from people with technical knowledge and a passion for creating content, who are curious about how a studio works. You could have experience in podcasting, DJing, creating and editing amazing soundscapes and we want to help you take the next step to turn your knowledge and passion into a career.

They are looking for self-starters with dedication, drive, and potential.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has been in a studio before and is not afraid to press buttons. It can be a home studio, your podcasting set-up, your DJ rig. You have a familiarity with radio/music studios and sound technology.

You will need knowledge and excitement about a wide range of media, and how they work (for example, radio, social media, podcasting, TV, YouTube, TikTok). An interest in RTÉ would be a plus when you’re applying.

The intern will be assigned to different shows across the 2fm schedule. They will learn about the various roles involved in creating programmes for broadcast. They will be tasked with creating their own content for shows as well as learning to edit content and operate the studio desks themselves.

This is a paid internship. You will receive a salary of €25,832 pro rata.

If you are successful, you will receive three weeks of bespoke training followed by a five-month internship. You will receive training on all aspects of creating and delivering content followed by specialist training with the RTÉ2fm team to prepare you for your role.
